Nick Wilcox is running for NID Director because he wants to serve his community by using his knowledge and expertise to help NID establish sound water policy and planning for the future.

Nick has been a member of our Community for nearly forty years.  Nick and his wife, Amanda, built a home and raised their family in the Penn Valley area.  They have both been active in supporting local youth through involvement in the schools and the youth soccer league.   Nick has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and has a proven record for being a respectful listener and consensus builder.

Nick has broad knowledge of statewide and local water systems and policies.  Nick’s relevant work experience in both the private and public sectors would greatly benefit NID and its customers.   Nick has had a long term interest in NID and has been attending NID board meetings regularly for over five years.

Water is essential for maintaining our quality of life.  Water is needed for drinking, irrigation, wildlife, recreation, environmental preservation, fire protection, and hydroelectric power.  The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) manages one of the most important resources in Nevada County.
